Sylvan Esso
Sylvan Esso, an American indie pop band, will be performing at the KEMBA Live! on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023. The band, which is composed of singer Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn, formed in Durham, North Carolina in 2013.
The band’s name is a combination of Meath’s middle name and the word “esso”, which is Latin for “it is”. The band’s music has been described as a mix of pop, electronica, and folk.
Sylvan Esso released their self-titled debut album in 2014, and it peaked at number one on the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. The album’s lead single, “Hey Mami”, peaked at number one on the US Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
The band’s second album, What Now, was released in 2017. It debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album’s lead single, “Radio”, peaked at number one on the US Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
